A gyuto knife is also called the Japanese chef's knife which is a multipurpose knife that can be used for meat and vegetables. Japanese chef knives are known for having thin blades that are light and keep their edges for a long time. Blade size ranges from 180mm to 300mm. 180mm and 210mm gyuto are recommended for home cooks while 240mm and 270mm are preferred by both professional chefs and serious amateurs.
