Masahiro is another solid Japanese knife-maker from Seki, Japan. Along with Misono and Masamoto, they are recognized as the big three M's.

Established in 1948, the company has been providing great value knives for both professional chefs and home cooks. Their virgin carbon line is one of our favorite series from them. Their MV series are also bang-for-the-buck knives.

Masahiro continues to improve their products by focusing on the research and development of their processing technology and the improvement of materials.

This gyuto is a great all-arounder. It is not as delicate compared to other gyutos that are thinner behind the edge but thanks to its asymmetric bevel, the knife still cuts well. The tip is quite thin making it nimble for precision tasks.

This series is also called "Masahiro VC (Virgin Carbon)".
