Satoshi Nakagawa

Satoshi Nakagawa-san is a protégé of master blacksmith Kenichi Shiraki-san, who retired in 2017. Nakagawa-san honed his craft under Shiraki-san for 16 years and took the lead at Shiraki Hamono in 2015 when his mentor fell ill. In April 2021, he inaugurated his own workshop, Nakagawa Hamono.

Despite his youth, Nakagawa-san stands out as one of the most skilled smiths in the field, adept in forging both laminated and honyaki knives. He works with a variety of carbon steels such as shirogami and aogami, as well as stainless steels like VG10 and Ginsanko.
