Satoshi Nakagawa

Satoshi Nakagawa is a highly respected Japanese blacksmith known for his exceptional craftsmanship. After training under master Kenichi Shiraki for 16 years, he took over Shiraki Hamono in 2015 before founding his own workshop, Nakagawa Hamono, in 2021.

Nakagawa specializes in both laminated and honyaki knife construction, producing high-performance blades using carbon steels like Shirogami and Aogami, as well as stainless options such as VG10 and Ginsanko. Nakagawa gyuto knives, in particular, are celebrated for their performance and refined forging techniques—shaped by tradition and years of dedication.
