Collection: Yoshikazu Ikeda

Yoshikazu Ikeda, current chairman of the Sakai Traditional Skilled Craftsman Association, began making kitchen knives in 1967 under his father's guidance. He established Ikeda Tanrenjo in 1983 as an independent workshop specializing in professional Japanese kitchen knives.

Ikeda is particularly renowned for his exceptional honyaki knife construction, representing traditional Japanese forging techniques refined over decades of experience in Sakai's historic knife-making district.
