This is a one-piece hinoki cutting board made by Kinari, based in Kanagawa, Japan. Each board is cut from a single piece of hinoki from a tree more than 100 years old, using only masame, the straight-grained section of the wood. The corners are softly rounded and the surface is smooth all over.
Hinoki is medium-soft, so it is gentle on knife edges. That makes it a good match for Japanese knives, and it is why sushi chefs have used hinoki for so long.
This is the Mini version(250 x 150 x 20 mm). Also available in Small (310 x 190 x 25 mm) and Standard (360 x 220 x 25 mm).

Care instructions
Before use: wet both sides and wipe off the excess. This helps stop stains and odors from soaking in, and it is gentler on the blade.
Wash along the grain with dish soap and rinse well.
Wipe dry, then dry upright in a ventilated spot, out of direct sun.
