Collection: Kyohei Shindo

Kyohei Shindo is a blacksmith based in Kami, Kochi Prefecture, on the island of Shikoku. He was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, and studied at university in Okinawa before moving to Kochi to learn knife making. There was no formal apprenticeship system in the area at the time, so he worked for a Tosa cutlery wholesaler and trained on his days off, using space in another blacksmith's shop.

He later taught at the Tosa Cutlery Federation before opening his own workshop in 2019. He forges, grinds, and sharpens every knife himself.
