An excellent medium stone from Naniwa. The Chosera #800 is a long-time favorite by sharpening enthusiasts because of the edge it creates and the feedback one would get.
Grit-wise, the Chosera #800 is actually closer to #1200; it's not a true #800 based on the JIS (Japanese Industrial standards). For reference, the Shapton #1000 has a micron rating of 14.70 while the Chosera #800 has a particle size of 14.00 microns; our favorite Shapton #1500 has a rating of 9.80 microns.
