This is the professional series from Asahi. The same cutting board used by chef Jiro Ono of Sukiyabashi Jiro in Tokyo.
It's a general-purpose cutting board made of synthetic rubber with a nice wood-like texture. I
Compared to other cutting boards, Asahi boards have high scratch resistance, low water absorbency, and are quick drying. Such boards are also easy on knives so you are able to prolong the edge of your knife due to its high knife impact force absorbance.
Maintenance is really a breeze with this one. It's easy to wash, stain-resistant, and unlike wooden boards, there is no need for that occasional oiling for maintenance.
