The Asahi black synthetic rubber series brings the same level of performance that made the Asahi Professional line a standard in both home and professional kitchens, and early feedback suggests it may even be better suited for everyday use. It delivers the familiar Asahi durability and stability while introducing a slightly softer feel and a modern aesthetic that many users will appreciate.
The surface has a wood-like, natural texture with a well-balanced level of hardness. It offers cutting feedback similar to that of a traditional wooden board, making it comfortable to use while remaining kind to knife edges. Despite being slightly less hard than the Asahi Professional series, this board resists the common problem of sharp knives digging too deeply into the surface. It is designed to be long-lasting, and it will not warp with normal use.
The material has extremely low water absorption, close to zero percent. This helps prevent moisture from building up inside the board, which in turn reduces the risk of bacteria and mold growth. Daily maintenance is straightforward: it is stain-resistant, easy to wash, and does not require any special care beyond normal cleaning. These features make it especially practical for busy home kitchens that need both hygiene and ease of use.
This size is ideal for home use and works well with knives up to 210mm in blade length. It is compact and lightweight without sacrificing stability during cutting, and the thin profile makes it easy to store in small kitchens. Overall, it is a practical, modern board that offers Asahi-level performance in a format that fits seamlessly into everyday cooking.

Why is the blade length different from the displayed size? The size in the product title is a nominal reference used by knife makers. The actual blade can be slightly longer or shorter due to handcrafting and traditional sizing. Each product page lists the exact measured length.
When will out-of-stock items be restocked? We carry limited, rotating stock. Once something sells out, we don't necessarily reorder it right away. It could be months before that item comes back, if at all. We bring in new knives regularly, but they're not always the same ones. Our newsletter is the best way to stay updated on new arrivals.
