❖ Yoshihide Masuda, born in 1976, is the third-generation owner of Masuda Hamono, a knife-making workshop in Sanjo City, Japan, established in the late 1940s. Joining the family business in 2017, Yoshihide works alongside his father, Ken Masuda, a designated Traditional Craftsman. Yoshihide has quickly distinguished himself in crafting high-quality kiridashi knives and introducing innovations. In 2023, he embarked on a project to expand the workshop's offerings, which resulted in the release of a select number of kitchen knives with beautiful twisted damascus patterns in 2024, showcasing his remarkable skill in traditional Japanese blacksmithing techniques.
