The Tsunehisa nashiji SLD petty is a handcrafted Japanese knife with a core of SLD steel. This semi-stainless steel contains 12% chromium, just under the 13% required for full stainless classification. Hitachi's SLD steel offers good edge retention and adequate toughness. The blade showcases a combination of tsuchime (hammered) and nashiji (pear skin) finishes, creating a distinctive textured surface.

The petty knife is designed for precise, detailed cutting tasks in the kitchen. Its compact size and narrow blade make it ideal for peeling, trimming, and slicing small fruits and vegetables.
