Specifications

The Takeshi Saji Rainbow Damascus Aogami #2 Bunka is a handcrafted knife by esteemed blacksmith Takeshi Saji. Featuring a core of Aogami #2 steel—renowned for its superior edge retention and sharpness—this knife excels in both performance and durability. Its rainbow damascus finish is achieved by layering rust-resistant stainless steel with brass and copper, creating a visually striking pattern.

Complemented by a Western-style ironwood handle, the knife offers a comfortable, secure grip that enhances functionality and ease of use. Designed for versatility, the bunka profile allows for precision slicing, dicing, and chopping, making it an essential tool for professional chefs and home cooks alike.

Takeshi Saji (born 1948) is a third-generation master blacksmith in Echizen, Japan and a founding member of Takefu Knife Village. In 1992, he was honored with the title of "Traditional Master Craftsman," a recognition reserved for the finest artisans in Japan. Working alongside his two apprentices, Saji-san continues to forge high-quality knives that uphold traditional techniques while setting new industry standards.
