This knife has a damascus cladding over a core of R2 steel, which is known for holding its edge well and resisting corrosion. The handle is made from ironwood, which Tanaka-san uses for his top-of-the-line knives. The ironwood series is considered Tanaka-san's best work and is considered as a collector's piece. This knife comes in a traditional kiri wood box.
