This is a pre-finisher from the Shobudani mine. At a hardness level of 2.5, it is relatively soft and easy to use, making it a practical choice for those starting to explore Japanese natural stones.
This is a Special Selection piece graded by Totoriya (砥取家). It is one of the stones we used in the progression to achieve the final finish on the Kisuke Manaka ENN kiritsuke gyuto.

Why is the blade length different from the displayed size? The size in the product title is a nominal reference used by knife makers. The actual blade can be slightly longer or shorter due to handcrafting and traditional sizing. Each product page lists the exact measured length.
