The Shigeki Tanaka R2 damascus santoku is a handcrafted Japanese knife forged by blacksmith Shigeki Tanaka. It features a blade made from R2 steel, known for its excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance. The damascus pattern on the blade is etched to enhance the contrast of the layered steel.

As a santoku knife, this excels in a variety of kitchen tasks. It's particularly well-suited for slicing, dicing, and mincing vegetables, as well as handling boneless meats and fish.
