The Hatsukokoro Shinkiro Kurouchi Damascus AS Gyuto is a handcrafted Japanese chef’s knife, hand-forged in Fukushima, Japan by Takahiro Nihei. It features a core of Aogami Super steel with a kurouchi damascus finish. This hefty knife combines a workhorse grind with a nail-flexing thin edge and excellent distal taper, offering high performance in the kitchen. Its weight and balance provide an authoritative feel in hand. Nihei's training at Yoshikane Hamono is evident in the knife's craftsmanship, which echoes the high-performance standards of Yoshikane blades.
