This carbon steel hakata features a Hitachi Aogami Super core in sanmai construction with iron-clad damascus and a tsuchime kurouchi finish. The blade measures 169mm with 49.4mm height. Heat treated to 64–65 HRC. The hakata is a regional knife style from Kyushu, similar to a bunka with an angled tip for detailed work. This knife handles general kitchen tasks from slicing to chopping. The Aogami Super core provides excellent edge retention. The iron cladding will develop a natural patina over time with use.
