The wrought iron is reclaimed from century-old structures and artifacts, since it is no longer commercially produced, giving each blade a distinctive, fibrous streaked grain. Hardened to around 66 HRC, the Apex Ultra core holds an edge well and sharpens easily on stones despite the hardness, making it an excellent choice for those who value edge retention.
